Another beautiful Day

Rocky Mountains, view from Ft. Carson.
My cool little men!
Dinosaur Museum in Woodland Park, CO
Leeanna's favorite spot in the backyard... the Hammock!

God is so good!
The kids and I are spending a few days in Loveland with Sina and her family. She invited us to her jewelry party. Well, I guess I will pick out my birthday present!!!!
It looks like we have finally found a good church. Lighthouse Baptist Church of Colorado Springs. Preaching is good, people and pastor are really nice and we all feel really good about it. Even Timothy likes to go to the nursery. We will know more in a few weeks.
On another note, Leeanna's and Tommy's Dad broke up with his girlfriend. He cancelled the Christmas visitation also. Which is ok with me, I love having my children with me. We will see what the future brings.
Hope everyone will have a wonderful weekend.

Leeanna and Timothy in Lee's famous reading spot in the back yard, the Hammick
Sorry, I forgot to turn the picture. A visit in the Dinosaur Museum.

A wonderful day in the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo in Colorado Springs.
Feeding of the Giraffes, was really neat. Never saw them this close. We would touch them.

Finally Arrived!

I know it has been a long time since I wrote something on here. SORRY! I am not much of a computer friend. Only the absolute minimum. Just to stay in touch with friends and family.
Anyways, we are here in Colorado Springs now. The drive here was good, the finding of our rent house was disappointing. It was dirty and Sina, Jason and I had to clean before the movers came 3 hours later. Then Timothy dropped a 25 lbs. weight on his right foot, which made he and I ending up in an emergency room. Nothing was broken, which was a blessing.
God has blessed us so much, it is incredible. We like the house, we found a good church and we LOVE Colorado Springs. There is so much to see and do.
I will try to post some pictures.
Sina came on Monday on a short notice (which I like) and we all went to the Dinosaur Museum here in Colorado Springs. Of course Jason, who is still off this week, argued with one of the ladies about Evolution vs. Creation.
Tomorrow (Friday) we are doing school in the morning and then of to Loveland, visiting Sina and her family for a birthday party for Daniel, her little boy - buddy of Tommy. I must say that I really enjoy having her and her family kind of close by. First time in a while to have family around.
The kids are doing great. They like it here. Tommy found some friends in his Sunday school class, Leeanna has not found any, because she has not been in the teen class yet. Timothy is just as happy as he can be, but I think he misses our old church, at least the nursery and his friends. I know Leeanna misses her's a lot. And Jason and I miss our church family. But the preaching in First Baptist Church of Peaceful Valley is good, and the people are very nice. By the way it is not A First Baptist Church. That is just the name of it.
OK, enough of it. All I can say: God is good.
Hope I will be more faithful posting here. Good Night!

Almost Time To Move

A visit in Iowa, July 2010
Sina, Ben and Timothy, our visit to Estes Park in beautiful Colorado

Tommy getting a haircut, July 2010
Serious boy!
I have not been very faithful with my blogging. Life just seems so busy since Timothy arrived. But I don't want to complain, because he is another big blessing in my life. God has been soooo good to us. Looking back at the last 6 years... Wow, we have come a long way.
But let's see what is going on in the Gohn's household: This is the first of Aug. Next month is the big move. Again!
We went to Colorado Springs in June and God has provided us with a house to rent. Jason's friend is going to Afghanistan for a deployment, which gives us the chance to rent his house for 10 month for an incredible price and to look around for a place in the country. It is a 6 bedroom house with 3500 Sq.ft. Lots of cleaning, LOL.
We have not found a church yet, which is a little bit disheartening, but I know that God has one in mind for us. We just have to be patient and pray about it.
The kids are excited and yet not, because they will miss their friends and our church. At least Sina will be living close, and we will - hopefully - have lots of visits with her and her family.
The kids and I started school 2 weeks ago to catch up for the move. It is a little bit hard to get back on track.

Spring is in the air

Field trip to the Money Museum in Kansas City
Timothy, ready for church
Timothy's first real haircut
2 good looking boys.

We had a wonderful week, weather wise. But we all got sick. First I had a stomach bug, then Jason came down with it, followed by Timothy and finally Tommy. So far, we all survived. We had a great "God and Country Conference" at church. A lot of information on what the political status of the Government should be and what it really is. Scary, but "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind." 2. Timothy 1:7. God also does not want us to sit back and watch what happens, but to get involved when evil tries to get us. Anyway, I don't need to preach, but it was a great conference.
We are still looking for a house online. If possible, we will take a week in June, drive to Colorado and go house shopping. But before that we will have a big garage sale. Again. I am planning on getting read of a lot of stuff. Arghh.
Other than that, all I can say we are excited, but we are also a bit sad, because of our church friends here. Well, moving on has always been an easy task for me, and God will take care of the rest. He has always taken care of us, provided us with great church homes, wonderful friends and a nice place. He is taken us to a different location, which gives me peace and excitement what He has in store for us.

House hunting

It has been awhile that I wrote something on my blog. There were not any changes really. Jason went to a men's recharge today, and kids and I are planning on having a slumber party tonight. With a good movie, popcorn and of course ice cream.
This last week was busy with school, broken washing machine, and a spa party. A friend who was expecting needed me, which was a great experience and made me want another baby. Crazy, hmmm.
Anyways, life is going on without big surprises (which is good). We are seriously looking for a house to buy in Colorado. It is exciting and a little challenging, because we are not there yet.
Timothy had his first haircut at the barbershop at the BX. He looks like a little man.
OK, this is it for today. Hope everybody is having a great weekend.

Colds are going around

Field trip "Living Book Report". Tommy was sooo nervous when talking about Eli Whitney.
How big are you? Sooooo big!
... and we all caught it. Timothy has been sick for more than a week, then started Tommy on his 9 birthday, and finally I am the victim. But it could be worse.
We have not gotten our written orders, but we know that our report date will be Oct. 10, 2010. Which means we will be moving around September. So much to do before.... Another garage sale... We accumulated way too much stuff! It is always hard to decide what to get read of.
Like always I am grateful for God's love for us and His grace.

Finally!

Here are the news we all have been waiting for: We have been reassigned to Fort Carson in Colorado. Of course I had to call Sina and my mom. Needless to say that they are excited. And even my kids are happy, which makes me glad. I called a friend I met in Germany in our "old" church, Jenny. They are also in Ft. Carson with the Army. It was great talking to her, and it is wonderful to know that we already have a friend there. It makes it so much easier leaving our great church, wonderful friends and our beautiful home behind.
We will try to go up there on a 4 day weekend to check everything out. Need to think about renting or buying a house. We will let God direct us, always the best way! He is so good. Whoever does not know Him, misses out on Happiness, Peace, Joy, Strength... and so much more.
OK, Colorado, here we come.

Global Warming? Are you kidding me?

Our backyard, covered in snow!
Little man walking!
Leeanna is having fun!

What is all the talk about Global Warming? What about Missouri that normally sees some ice and a little snow? Now we had several inches of snow, and there is no end in sight. Yippie. Sorry, but I love the snow. If we have to have a winter, we might as well have snow. Right? A true German is talking. Anyway, finally Timothy is doing better and we can enjoy the weather. I am sorry, though, that we put our wooden sled in storage where we can't get it. Poohoo. Anyway, have a wonderful snow-day everyone.
